The Solution
We conducted an evaluation of current and future engagement opportunities for the Lord of the Rings IP across six major categories: A/V Stories, Print Media, Consumer Products, Physical Experiences, Virtual Experiences, and Video Games. Our insights revealed untapped opportunities in interactive and real-world experiences, as well as sustained engagement in traditional media formats.
Current engagement is strong in Books, TV, Web/Apps, Video Games, and Merchandise.
Future demand is high in Interactive Narratives, VR experiences, and themed experiences (e.g., pop-ups, hotels, cruises).
Significant potential exists for transitioning the IP into new interactive and physical experiences.
